The Office of the Exchequer is responsible for keeping a group's bookkeeping in order. They are the treasurer of a group. Being that the SCA is a Not-for-Profit, 501(C)3 Educational Organization, and Tax Exempt by the IRS, it is vital that this person do their job, and do it well. But as such, donations to our group are Tax Deductible, and contributions are always welcome. For each contribution, we can write you a receipt for your donation and you can write it off on your taxes. If you personally, or your business or organization, would like to make a tax deductible donation to an educational organization, please contact our Chancellor of the Exchequer.

The Exchequer does not make financial decisions in a vacuum, however. They work with the Financial Committee of a group in decisions about spending group monies and how to raise more money. Currently, the Financial Committee of this Shire is made up of the active Officers of the group. No check will be issued to a member for reimbursement of funds unless that expenditure was priorly agreed to by the Financial Committee.
